Adopted Sturgeon - Yeeberg

When Ernest Yee set the hook on November 18th, 2012, he had no idea the adventure he had begun. Thanks to a great team effort with friend Shaw Saltzberg, a beautiful mature fish was landed and assessed for our monitoring and assessment program. Named "Yeeberg", this large sturgeon inspired us all!

Yeeberg a mature fish and represents a priority area of our research and advocacy – addressing the reality of low juvenile recruitment and taking action to protecting spawning and rearing habitat for young fish. The data we learn as this fish is recaptured through its life will help us to gain further insight into the issues facing sturgeon, their recovery progress as well as help us to identify new ways to ensure their survival.

Thank you, Ernest, for your support for our work and efforts to protect and restore the Fraser River white sturgeon.
