Mister P. Caker

This large, mature sturgeon was adopted by our 2010 Fraser River Sturgeon Series, Hosted by Rick Hansen event October 1st participant, Bob Harcus.  This fish was the 3rd largest fish encountered during that event and Bob, adopted "Mister P. Caker" in honour of good friend, Mike Wolzen's grandson, Devin.

This fish is a few decades old and has seen many changes and developments in its river home.  Encountered above the Mission Bridge, near Chilliwack, the sturgeon may have travelled as far down as to reach the mouth of the Fraser at Steveston or as high towards the raging waters of Hell's Gate.

Devin will have the opportunity to learn about the life of this fish through our regular updates and recapture history as we track it through our monitoring and assessment program.  With ongoing help and support we can help Mr. P. Caker have the best chance possible to live well beyond its projected 150 years.
