Prizes and Awards:

  1. First place: for Boat Teams is a trip for 4 to Langara Fishing Lodge valued at over $20,000.00. To level the playing field, while helping with our science and data needs, this prize will be awarded using a new format. Total length in centimetres of all fish caught. A bonus of 5cm for each new tag applied to all fish under 70cm will be added to your total. With this new format the top prize could be won by any Team anywhere on the river and strategy can be applied to how you choose to fish. As an example, a Team with lots of small fish could win over Teams with a few bigger fish. Your Team chooses how to fish, target big fish? A bunch of small fish? Or maybe both!

  1. Second place: Golf at the Sandpiper Course for 4, Two Nights accommodations at the Harrison Resort for 4, 2 rooms 2 nights. A awesome 6 hour Harrision River Guided Kayak tour complete with a lunch experience. Provided by The BC Sports Fishing Group.
  2. Third place: is a 8 hour guided sturgeon trip for 4. Provided by the Fraser Valley Angling Guide Association.
  3. Largest sturgeon from Tip of the nose to the fork of the tail $1,000.00
  4. Second largest sturgeon $ 500.00
  5. The smallest Sturgeon with a new tag applied $ 500.00.
  6. The most Fish caught Team prize TBD.
  7. Hidden Length prize TBD.
  8. Virgin Sturgeon prize for most new tags applied. TBD.

We would like to invite you and your Team of 4 to participate in this years exciting “NEW FORMAT “ Sturgeon Conservation Challenge. This year we want to provide flexibility to the participants to fish on several days in different areas of the Fraser from March 1st to October 12th. We have hand selected accredited guides that will provide you with a quality experience. Once your Team has paid the entry cost and registered you then contact us and we will work with you to find a day and location on the Fraser that best fits your schedule. Our professional anglers (PA) will ensure that days are picked with the best tide and location for the the time of year providing you with the best opportunity to encounter a modern day dinosaur. The Gala Awards evening will be separate from the angling experience.

You and your team will have the option to fish one of these five areas:

AREA 1. Estuary to the Pattullo Bridge (Best on the Flood ) Based on New Westminster tide table (ladner area is aprox 1 hour earlier)
AREA 2. Fraser From Pattullo Bridge to East end of Douglas Island Pitt River (based on Pitt -aprox 1hr and 20minutes later than NW tide)
AREA 3. East End of Douglas Island to Mission These tides are based on New Westminster Tide table plus a 1hr 20min addition
AREA 4. Mission To Chilliwack. / AREA 5. Chilliwack to Hope. / ( NOT TIDE SENSITIVE AREAS) Some spawning closures in July
AREA 6. Hope to Yale ( NOT TIDE SENSITIVE AREAS) some spawning closures in July PLEASE BOOK YOUR DATE ASAP for this area

  • Includes 8 hours of guided catch, tag & release angling with all equipment and bait included. Location and date to be arranged with the FRSCS Guide Team. A FRSCS volunteer will meet you at your launch location.

Gala Awards Dinner:

  • Arrival time is 5:30 on October 19th at Cascades Casino Coast Hotel, 20393 Fraser Hwy, Langley BC. Dress is business.
  • Hotel room booking information will be provided online
  • Guest Speaker Rick Hansen
  • You must attend the Gala to collect awards and prizes.

Sturgeon Trip:

  • Location and date to be arranged with the FRSCS Guide Team. A FRSCS volunteer will meet you at your launch location.
